Proverbs 7:1-2 The secret to power and abundant living

There is a scientific law called entropy.  It means that everything moves from order to disorder.  We live in a time when the very earth itself is being shaken  (see the Links section).  Nevertheless, we can live a productive and purposeful life if we treasure God's word.  If we take the time to consider His word and hide it in our hearts, God says, "we will live"!

Proverbs 31:22-23 A virtuous woman makes men envy her husband

Every wise man wants a woman of virtue.  He knows that he has one when other wise men voice their respect for her!  A virtuous woman (Psalms 31) is compassionate and industrious. She protects and nourishes her fanily.  She presents herself to the public with modesty and dignity  She delights greatly in helping and exalting her husband.  A woman is not born virtuous.  She becomes virtuous because she trusts God to help her become better each day.  Her beauty and royalty is pictured here as silk and purple garments.  Her worth is far above rubies.

Proverbs 25:21-22 It is wise to give to an enemy in need

It is not easy to reach out and help someone who has hurt you or shown that they dislike you.  But, when they are in need it is wise and compassionate to give to their need.  It may cause them to regret what they did to you and serve as a catalyst for their growth.  Regardless of their reaction, God will ensure that you are rewarded.

Proverbs 20:3 It is honorable to end quarrels

Social media has provided a new way for people to display their good character, or expose their lack of it.  People can post things that they might not say face to face.  A wise person recognizes the difference between a discussion and a fight and will honorably defuse the "altercation" or quickly bow out.  The foolish will continue to fight.

Proverbs 19:5 Liers will not escape punishment

Lying is an attempt to protect, enrich or injure someone (that someone might be ourselves). Even if we think the lie accomplishes our goal, there is an unseen consequence that we set into motion. If we understood how dangerous lying was (to us), we would work harder to only speak the truth!A
